Last February 10th, Twitter announced a number of improvements as mentioned in the Q4 Shareholder Report, the company’s quarterly earning report. Most of these changes involve the company’s core user experience, its advertising and marketing business, and its consignment for new users.

“We do feel there are a number of broken windows that are inhibiting growth,” said CEO Jack Dorsey regarding the company’s earnings call. He also said Twitter will “refine [its] core service to make everything more intuitive” and “give creators and influencers the best tools to connect with their audiences.”

To completely change its direction, Twitter is focusing on a list of marketing and user experience enhancements this year. Twitter’s management has their eyes set on improving user safety, as well as helping developers go further with how the brands and marketers will use the site’s services.

Live Video Ads via Periscope

This time around, Twitter users will have access to live video ads in cooperation with Periscope, an app that enables users to go live via mobile devices anytime and anywhere. Twitter will be able to truly take advantage of its mobile platform by incorporating notifications and location, as well as social sharing, live feed and discussions. To sum it all up, Periscope will be an interactive event that will bring loads of traffic to the aforementioned site.

Periscope is a great way to broadcast messages and video conversations through your smartphone. Anyone who joins your broadcast (if you choose to show it publicly) will immediately get updates and live posts from your feed.It is highly recommended for businesses who would like to connect with other users through livestreaming.

Improvement on the @ Reply Rules and its Syntax

In the foregoing Q4 Shareholder Report, Dorsey and the other Twitter executives repeatedly give emphasis to improving the platform’s timeline to enhance customer relations by giving them the “core experience”. They have yet to shed light on new changes coming to mentions and the existing reply rules and syntax.

Elaborate more on the Twitter “Moments”

Whether you are a Twitter user or not, Moments’ main goal is to give the world the best of what’s happening on Twitter in an instant. It helps you find the best of Twitter as easily as tapping an icon – regardless of who you follow. As of the moment, Moments is curated by Twitter and “select partners”, according to documentation. These “select partners” include advertisers dating back to the first Promoted Moment in October, which was for the movie “Creed.”

Twitter is already LIVE

“The focus will be on the timeline,” Dorsey said. Twitter will “show the world these live events, find the best way to bring people into these live events — show them the context and help them connect with others.”

The chronological, “Facebook-like” timeline will be the main priority to improve this year and will likely be the most talked-about upgrade of 2016.

Twitter surely is stepping up their game this year. We can’t wait for what’s to come! What do you think of these new upgrades? Do you have any suggestions to make your Twitter experience more marketable? Sound off in the comments section below!
